What started as a grassroots effort in South Carolina calling attention to hunger has grown into a national fundraising event with over $40 million raised since 1990.
The Souper Bowl of Caring takes place on the NFL’s Super Bowl Sunday, when millions of dollars are spent on food served on game day. Church youth groups wearing their favorite NFL team jerseys and carrying soup pots, collect $1 from people as they leave their worship service. All proceeds collected remain in the community benefiting hungry and homeless people.
Church youth groups can show your support to end hunger by participating on February 5, 2012 in Souper Bowl Sunday and donating the monies raised to the Samaritan Soup Kitchen and Inn.

We gave nearly $100 to Samaritan Ministries through our offering on Sunday for our Souper Bowl Day of Caring. With $100 Samaritan Ministries can provide one guest with five nights at the shelter along with dinner and breakfast for five days. Thank you for giving!
