This Saturday's Special Olympics Service Opportunity

Arrive, on location, at the YWCA in Winston-Salem at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 8th

We are volunteering to serve the Special Olympics during their Five-On-Five Basketball Tournament.

This is the address for the Gateway YWCA:
Southeast Gateway YWCA
1300 S. Main Street

Feel free to use to get directions from your home to the YWCA.

We will NOT meet at the C. E. Building before this event, due to the early hour of our commitment. We should also plan to stay on location at the YWCA until close to 1 p.m.

We have signed up to be Court Assistants - we will help to monitor the basketball court as well as escort athletes.

Thanks once again for your willingness to be a part of this very special event!

See you Saturday morning at 7:15 a.m. at the Gateway YWCA!

God bless you!
Dan and Christie

P.S. - Please remember to bring a picture ID with you on Saturday morning.

Spring Yard Day – March 22nd
Help us get ready for spring by working outdoors here at RMH! We will begin at 10:00am on March 22nd and a light breakfast will be provided. If you are interested in attending, please contact me at 723.0228 x11 or by replying to this e-mail. We will be weeding, planting and more, so please wear comfy clothes. We have some yard tools, but please bring along your own and your green thumbs! We look forward to seeing you then!

Sport a Shirt, Share a Night 2008
Support the children and families staying in the Ronald McDonald Houses across North Carolina by purchasing a $10 tee shirt and wearing it on April 18th. Civic groups, businesses, churches, other organizations and individuals will be joining the fun.

A special way to participate is by becoming a team leader and telling your friends about Sport a Shirt, Share a Night. Volunteer to help fill shirt orders and buy your own shirt! Attached are documents with more information and feel free to check our website.

With this fundraiser, we also have many opportunities to volunteer:

Volunteer to help fold/sort the Sport a Shirts at RMH

We need volunteers April 1st-4th and April 7th-10th.

On weekdays, we are scheduling volunteers in 1-hour shifts from 10 am to 6 pm. You may choose to do more than an hour, but 1 hour is the minimum.
Volunteer to work at a Sport a Shirt Sales Booth

We need volunteers April 14th–18th.

This year, Sport a Shirts will be sold at various hospital locations. We need help with booth set-up, staffing, closing, and restocking.

Volunteer to work on Sport a Shirt Pick-Up Day at RMH

We need volunteers from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on April 11th.

Groups who purchase Sport a Shirts will stop by the house to pick up their orders. We need help with refreshments, retrieving orders and greeting guests.

If you are able to help with any of these projects, please contact Abby Bowman at 336-723-0228 x11 or or Christie Ponjican at
