"Love Your Neighbor Day" - Report

Hello, Just a note to let you know how our "Love Your Neighbor Day" went. Sis Angela and I took our friend Sherri to lunch today.

Sherri is a middle aged widow who lost her husband unexpectedly a couple of years ago to cancer. She is still going through the grieving process and has a difficult time, especially during the holidays.

After our lunch and fellowship today, she went home uplifted and encouraged.

We gave food to a needy family; they have been to Heavenview a couple of times.

Neither of them are working right now, and so things have been tough for them. Please continue to keep them in your prayers.

The Stephens' family took snack bags and medical supplies to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. They were determined to have an attitude of gratitude and it made a difference.

Sorry for the extremely late post, but this particular SOG opportunity was perfect. We live in a rural area, so we picked our closest neighbor, Ben. Ben has had a string of very bad luck over the past few months. Mike had gotten him a temporary job but was laid off. He lives is a small single wide on an acre tract of land off the main highway out here in Rockingham County. He has not been able to get a job in 6 months and has to run an extension cord from his mom's trailer next door to have electricity. His well has gone bad and he has no running water. Since we don't much about digging wells but we do know about the Living Water, we figured the best thing we could do is provide him food. So our offering was a gift certificate that allowed him to purchase whatever he needed. He was so touched and we shared with him the reason behind our offering. This was truly a blessing for all of us, but particularly for Ben because he knows now that people truly care about him.
