November's Serving Our Generation Event

SERVING OUR SOLDIERS

The Serving Our Generation Ministry needs your help in preparing special “We Care” Christmas packages for a Marine Corp troop that have been deployed to Iraq. We will require enough supplies to provide for 30-40 service personnel.

Won’t you help us thank the men and women that are protecting our freedom by contributing some of the items listed below or assisting us monetarily to help defray postage expenses?

If someone in your family is also serving overseas or away from home, please provide their name and service address by November 1st to Donna or Mike Zappala, so that a package can be prepare especially for them.

Items needed:

Lotions, Hand Creams & Sunscreen Lip balm
Shaving gel/cream & razors Facial wipes
Saline nose spray & Eye drops Hygiene & deodorant products
Toothpaste/Toothbrushes Mouthwash & dental floss
Foot powders/sprays Moleskin & bandages for sore feet
Tylenol, Blue Ice, Tums Neosporin & Anti-itch creams
Bath gel & Anti-bacterial soaps Kleenex & Toilet paper
Pens, Stationary, Envelopes Shampoo & Conditioners
Gatoraid, Kool Aid envelopes Gum, Tic-tacs, candies
Small cans of meat & fruit Small envelopes of sugar
Envelopes coffee & creamer Pistachios, nuts & beef jerky
Small flashlights with batteries Energy bars
White Cotton Socks Sponge footballs, balls
DVDs (new or used) Music CDs (new or used)
Magazines, comic books, crosswords Paperback books
Hand-held video games and batteries Hand-held mirrors & combs
Sunglasses Nail Clippers & tweezers
Matches & lighters Sewing kits
International phone cards (available at Sam’s and U.S. Post Office)

Please have your items to us no later than November 2nd.

The Serving Our Generation team will need help in assembling the packages also. We will meet at the Community Center at 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 8th to assemble packages. Come out and join us!

Refreshments will be provided by our Get Healthy Stay Balanced Ministry.
