Our congregation did a wonderful job putting their confectionery skills to work.
We had a wide variety of sweets to offer: 4-layer Pumpkin Cake w/ Pumpkin Cheesecake Mousse filling, the Zappalas Famous 5-Flavor Pound Cake (2 of them - each sold for $120), Pecan Pie, Key Lime Cake, Tropical Cheesecake with Coconut Crust, Butterfinger Toffee Cake, etc...
It was a lot of fun with several bidding wars (I think Bro. Herman won the war on two cakes and Sis. Peggy is still trying to figure out how he missed her cut off signals).
Our people really got into the whole spirit of it and in just a short time of about 45 minutes we had raised $2500.
We are so thankful for all those who baked and for all of those who purchased pies/cakes for such a worthy cause.
The funds collected through this fundraising endeavor will help missionairies across the globe!
