This Saturday's Special Olympics Service Opportunity
Arrive, on location, at the YWCA in Winston-Salem at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 8th
We are volunteering to serve the Special Olympics during their Five-On-Five Basketball Tournament.
This is the address for the Gateway YWCA:
Southeast Gateway YWCA
1300 S. Main Street
Winston-Salem
336-354-1590
Feel free to use www.mapquest.com to get directions from your home to the YWCA.
We will NOT meet at the C. E. Building before this event, due to the early hour of our commitment. We should also plan to stay on location at the YWCA until close to 1 p.m.
We have signed up to be Court Assistants - we will help to monitor the basketball court as well as escort athletes.
Thanks once again for your willingness to be a part of this very special event!
See you Saturday morning at 7:15 a.m. at the Gateway YWCA!

March Volunteer Office Update from Ronald McDonald House
Hello Ronald McDonald House Supporters,
We are well into “March Madness” time! We have many opportunities to help approaching. Check out the details below.
We appreciate your support!
This month our top 5 needs are:
1 – 39 gallon garbage bags
2 – Aluminum foil
3 – Dry Swiffer cloths
4 – Poptarts
5 – breakfast bars
Spring Yard Day – March 22nd
Help us get ready for spring by working outdoors here at RMH! We will begin at 10:00am on March 22nd and a light breakfast will be provided. If you are interested in attending, please contact me at 723.0228 x11 or by replying to this e-mail. We will be weeding, planting and more, so please wear comfy clothes. We have some yard tools, but please bring along your own and your green thumbs! We look forward to seeing you then!
Sport a Shirt, Share a Night 2008
Support the children and families staying in the Ronald McDonald Houses across North Carolina by purchasing a $10 tee shirt and wearing it on April 18th. Civic groups, businesses, churches, other organizations and individuals will be joining the fun.
A special way to participate is by becoming a team leader and telling your friends about Sport a Shirt, Share a Night. Volunteer to help fill shirt orders and buy your own shirt! Attached are documents with more information and feel free to check our website.
With this fundraiser, we also have many opportunities to volunteer:
Volunteer to help fold/sort the Sport a Shirts at RMH
We need volunteers April 1st-4th and April 7th-10th.
On weekdays, we are scheduling volunteers in 1-hour shifts from 10 am to 6 pm. You may choose to do more than an hour, but 1 hour is the minimum.
Volunteer to work at a Sport a Shirt Sales Booth
We need volunteers April 14th–18th.
This year, Sport a Shirts will be sold at various hospital locations. We need help with booth set-up, staffing, closing, and restocking.
Volunteer to work on Sport a Shirt Pick-Up Day at RMH
We need volunteers from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on April 11th.
Groups who purchase Sport a Shirts will stop by the house to pick up their orders. We need help with refreshments, retrieving orders and greeting guests.
